The new IQ Soft-touch, In-bay Automatic, is yet another innovation from D&S Car Wash Equipment Company. The state-of-the-art 3D profiling and mapping system is the first of its kind in the industry. A three-dimensional scan captures each vehicle’s unique shape while “mapping” details like the luggage rack and spoilers. This technology provides a custom wash for everything from MINI Coopers, to Duallys, to full-sized pickup trucks. Thus, the “3D” scan produces a smarter, more efficient and safer wash! Lightweight and nimble, this machine delivers on performance while consuming less power, water and chemicals than other friction automatics on the market.

 

The IQ Soft-touch is light, efficient, and quiet. Each machine function is precisely controlled by proprietary software and electric drive motors with VFD’s. And, because of the light-weight design and construction, the IQ requires less energy and is whisper-quiet as it glides over a car. Most importantly, the IQ was conceived and built to minimize power, water and chemical consumption.

 

The “Invisible Treadle^TM” vehicle positioning system, digital menu sign, and Voice Announcer™ work flawlessly together to enhance the total customer experience. The invisible treadle means no guide rails or hardware on the bay floor. This creates the clean, “open bay” look that many car wash customers prefer.

 

The IQ’s Wheel Cannon^TM is one of the most powerful – and accurate - touchless wheel cleaners on an in-bay automatic! The center of the wheel is precisely located with ultra-sonics during the three-dimensional scan step. On the pass after the 3D scan, tire chemical is dispensed for maximum dwell time on the tire and wheel. On the prescribed Wheel Cannon™ pass, Mosmatic stabilizer tips and zero-degree nozzles, blasts the brake dust and road grime away. The Wheel Cannon™ can effectively clean up to 20” rims with its wide, powerful spray pattern.

 

The IQ Soft-touch is web enabled. With broadband Internet access, an operator can get basic information like daily wash counts, service issues, and shut-down faults. In addition, program updates will be downloaded over the web. These notifications are automated and can be delivered to any number of email addresses. Wash data are captured on a common “SD” memory card. Critical information such as recipes, vehicle scan history, and custom machine settings are stored for up to 100 washes!

 

Is bay size a concern? The IQ Soft-touch was designed as a system and is scalable to almost any bay! In the equipment room, the extremely compact pump stand generates very little noise during peak operation. The IQ’s 35GPM pump generates an unbelievably low 75 decibels. It is so quiet; you can even talk on your cell phone! As a bonus, the IQ Soft-touch pump stand has an extremely small footprint - 24”W x 32”D x 53”H.
