D&S History at a Glance

Established in 1972, D&S was the first company to introduce an all (welded) stainless steel vacuum to the car wash industry and the first company to incorporate solid state timers in car washing applications. We were also instrumental in launching digital displays in coin meters.

Since then our product lines have expanded to include in-bay automatics, self-serve car wash systems and components, and vacuums for professional car washes, convenience store operations, and auto dealerships. Thousands of D&S in-bay automatic systems have operated continuously, with many of our first models still in operation today, lending to the quality we’ve built since day one.

Timeline

Decades of Growth & Equipment Development

  • 1972

    D&S Manufacturing is founded in High Ridge, Missouri, a southwest suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Manufacturing operations began at a car wash converted into a small factory.

  • 1980s

    D&S began using solid-state timers in car wash applications. Company expansion continued and the digital display timer was incorporated into equipment designs.

  • 1989

    D&S introduces the 5000 Touchless Automatic Car Wash System

  • 1994

    D&S Manufacturing moved to 4200 Brandi Lane, High Ridge, Missouri, and increased manufacturing capabilities to 30,000 sq ft.

  • 2000

    Manufacturing capacity expanded by 25,000 sq ft to accommodate increased sales demand. The Manila, Arkansas facility was built to provide additional manufacturing capacity.

  • 2002

    The D&S Super 5000 Touchless Automatic Car Wash is introduced.

  • 2007

    Quicksilver Touch Free In-Bay Automatic Car Wash is introduced.

  • 2008

    The D&S 5000 Car Wash System is rebranded as the i5000 Car Wash System.

  • 2011

    D&S introduces the IQ Soft Touch In-Bay Automatic Car Wash System.

  • 2013

    Company expands into Europe, Russia, and GCC international markets. D&S introduces the IQ Touch-Free In-Bay Automatic Car Wash System.

  • 2014

    D&S introduces the IQ Self Wash Car Wash System.

  • 2018

    D&S introduces the new and revolutionary IQ Express car washing system.

  • 2020

    The D&S IQ MAX Large Vehicle Wash System is introduced.

  • 2021

    The company is sold to Lometa Capital Partners, which changes the official business name to D&S Car Wash Equipment Company.
    D&S achieves 50 years of Car Washing Innovation, is acquired by Lometa Capital Partners, and is renamed D&S Car Wash Supply.

  • 2024

    D&S acquires WashCard Systems, adding payment and loyalty solutions to its robust catalog of product offerings.
