Considered the longest North American expressway operated without tolls by a single highway authority, the MacDonald Cartier Freeway (Highway 401) stretches 820 km (509 mi) through Canada’s richest economic region. From Windsor on the US border to the Ontario-Quebec boundary, 401 traverses dense urban areas and miles of checkerboard farms. Where this dual lane divided highway bends westward toward Michigan, the town of Tilbury straddles it for a few miles in an otherwise desolate leg. That high volume coupled with a substantial percentage of commercial freight traffic, RV’s, construction and agricultural-related vehicles make Tilbury an ideal location for a truck wash.
Part of that traffic includes vehicles in the 1,500-truck fleet of Mississauga, Ontario based BRAR’s Foods. In just 20 years, the family-owned firm grew from a small restaurant into a multimillion-dollar international supplier of ethnic foods. As a member of that family, Dennis Pabla gained much experience and connections within the transport and logistics sector, and that sparked his interest in exploring the opportunity of a truck wash business. Soon he was “all-in” and after considering several sites for a ground-up operation, determined an ideal site existed in the ideal location of Tilbury where many of his fleet patronized the Tilbury Truck Wash.

After acquiring the business, and while renovating and equipping it with an IQ MAX and rebranding as The Giant Truck Wash, Dennis came to envision multiple washes throughout Canada, and established Auto Wash Solutions as a large vehicle wash distributor to pursue that opportunity.
